HOW WE DO IT
ARTWORK
The selected paintings offer an abstracted outlook into a specific community and subject matters.
Working with collaborative participation, the paintings illustrate abstractions of ‘site’, representational objects and language all discovered through research and autobiographical memory.
In an abstracted approach, this body of work focuses on themes such as social stereotyping, community, crime, drug misuse, and lack of opportunity. It aims to create a window into an area of the UK, producing a picture of Redcar and Dormanstown, showing both positive and negative aspects.
